Fleck or Solid Colour – Which Style Is Right for You?
Both colour styles use the same durable chair mat construction, so the choice is mainly about the look you prefer and how forgiving you want the surface to be in everyday use.

What does Dimensionally Stable Rubber Backing do?
The dimensionally stable rubber backing will not split or crack and resists rucking beneath the wheels or legs of a chair. A choice of smooth backing and claw backing helps keep the mat in place on hard floors or carpets.
For medium to deep pile carpets (9mm+), we recommend combining the chair mat with our Teebaud Premium Mat Underlay, which is very effective at preventing any mat movement or rucking when the chair is moved. You should still select the claw backing, so the mat grips the underlay.
Washable Chair Mat
The mat face is incredibly durable, stain-resistant and easy to clean without the need for chemicals. Perfect to cope with coffee spills or lunches at your desk. Clean the same way you would clean a carpet, with a vacuum or carpet extraction cleaner. The mats can also be laundered in a washing machine, although larger mats may only fit in a commercial washing machine.
Border or No Border? Choose What Works for You
Option 1: With Rubber Border (Recommended for Most Spaces)

- Provides structural squaring, giving the mat a clean, framed look
- Minimises the visibility of size tolerances
Option 2: Without Border (For Recesses & Wall‑to‑Wall Installs)
Important — please read before choosing “No Border”:
Borderless mats are cut to size. They are designed specifically for:
- Mat wells / mat recesses
- Wall‑to‑wall installations
- Fitting flush against walls or fixed surfaces
- Applications where the cut edge is not visible
What to expect with a borderless mat:
1. Visible Cut Edge
Because there is no stitched or sealed edge, you will see the raw machine‑cut line.
You may notice:
- A clean but visible cut edge
- Some loose fibres along the edge (can be removed by brushing or vacuuming and will not fray further)
- The black rubber base visible beneath the coloured fibres
2. Light Colours Show More Contrast
Lighter colours, such as Cool Grey and Sahara Beige for example, may show the black backing more clearly along the cut line. This is normal and unavoidable due to how the mat is constructed.
If the edges will be visible, we recommend choosing the bordered version, especially if you’re choosing a lighter coloured mat

To order custom sizes, choose “Custom Size” in the Size dropdown box, choose all your other options (Colour, Backing & Border) and boxes will appear beneath the price to enter the measurements you require. The price will automatically be calculated.
There are minimum and maximum custom sizes. Larger sizes cost less per m², as shown in the Measurement Price Bands displayed.
Please note: the custom size you enter is the size the mat will be made to, including borders. Due to natural shrinkage in the manufacturing process, there may be a +/- 3% size variation on made-to-measure mats made with borders — mats made without borders are cut to your exact size requirement. Custom-sized items are made to your specific measurements, so please ensure accurate measurements. Returns for custom items are limited to manufacturing defects or errors on our part; returns for correctly supplied mats are considered at our discretion and will incur a customisation fee, with the buyer responsible for return shipping costs. Delivery Timescale
Due to the custom nature of these mats, a lead time of approx. 2 weeks is required for production and delivery. The mats are currently made in our EU factory, and you’ll receive notifications from our courier DHL when your mat is on its way to you. See our current delivery timescale at the top of this page.
How to Measure for Your Chair Mat
- Straighten a paperclip as shown below.
- Insert the paperclip through the carpet and underlay until it touches the subfloor.
- Measure the depth from the point where the paperclip touches the subfloor to the top of the carpet pile.
- Choose a chair mat option suitable for your total measured depth (e.g., select “Up to 9mm” if your total depth is 9mm or less).

Q: My carpet has a thick or deep pile — will the mat stay in place?

Got to say excellent for Trusted Mats, we received our rubber backed office chair mat about 10 days after ordering, they are made to measure in Poland. Was a little disappointed when it arrived and still moved about on the carpet but a phone call to Trusted Mats and they said they recommend buying the underlay if you have thicket pile carpet which I did.
Underlay arrived a few days later, worked a treat, no movement.
((I think it would be good for Trusted Mats to state this on the listing, would save people getting disappointed with the mat moving, if I had known at the time I would have ordered at the same time)).

Great home office mat
I was looking for a specific non slip, size and colour mat for my home office that has a stone floor and found it on the trusted mats website for a reasonable price, communication from trusted mats was very good, the product arrived well packaged and as expected, the quality seems very good, so far very pleased.

Purchased a shades eco chair mat to put my computer table and chair on. I am very pleased with the quality of the mat. It was not cheap but looks very sturdy and hardwearing. The Mat has rubber gripping on the bottom to stop it moving position which is beneficial.
The only thing that could have been better was the timescale. It took about 3 weeks to arrive but they are made to order and i ordered it at the end of November which is the busiest time of the year for most online retailers and that would have increased the lead time. Very pleased with the purchase.
