Important Usage Notice
The mat is designed for use with office chairs on castor wheels. Please don’t place stationary chair legs, desk legs or other heavy furniture (such as bookcases or filing cabinets) on the mat alongside your chair. Shared weight creates uneven pressure points across the material, which can cause premature cracking and void the warranty.

How to Choose the Right Chair Mat
Measure these before you order:
- Total floor space available
- Workstation width
- Size of your chair base
- Your “roll area”, meaning how far you move on your chair
- Carpet depth, including underlay (if you’re choosing for carpet)
If you have the space, choose a slightly larger mat to give yourself more room to roll.
How to Choose the Right Mat for Your Carpet
The claw back option you need depends on your total carpet depth, including any underlay. To measure it:
- Straighten a paperclip as shown below.
- Insert the paperclip through the carpet and underlay until it touches the subfloor.
- Measure the depth from the point where the paperclip touches the subfloor to the top of the carpet pile.
- Choose a chair mat option suitable for your total measured depth (for example, select “Up to 9mm” if your total depth is 9mm or less).

Unpacking Your Chair Mat
Your mat is supplied rolled and under tension, so please read the unpacking instructions before you cut any packaging or tape, and keep your hands clear as it releases. Claw backed mats have gripper points on the underside, so handle them with care. Once released, the mat lies flat within moments.

Q: Will the mat move on my carpet?
The claw backing is designed to grip carpet pile, so make sure you choose the option that matches your total carpet and underlay depth. If your mat still creeps, get in touch and we’ll help.
Q: Is it a trip hazard?
No. The mat lies flat straight out of the box and won’t curl, so there are no raised edges to catch a foot. On carpet, the claw points sit down into the pile.
Q: Will it crack, and can it take a heavy chair?
High-grade polycarbonate is built for long-term impact resistance and won’t yellow or curl. Customers use it under heavy ergonomic and gaming chairs. Use it only for chairs on castors, and keep stationary chair legs, desk legs and other heavy furniture off the mat, as uneven pressure can cause cracking and void the warranty.
Q: How do I clean and look after it?
Simply sweep any debris from the mat and wipe with a damp cloth.

Trusted Mats provided a first-class product at a very reasonable price. More important was the extremely helpful advice and support I received from Rebecca, their Customer Services Representative. She patiently helped me resolve an issue concerning the mat’s tendency to move when sitting at my desk for prolonged periods. She had noticed I had ordered a second, similar mat, and contacted me to query this. She offered to hold the second order while I tried out her suggestions for stopping the creeping movement of the original mat. That issue solved, Trusted Mats immediately refunded the cost of the second mat.

Sits VERY nicely on the floor and has, even, levelled it up a bit. Chair rolls smooth but not too slick that you just slide all over the place.

I replaced an old carpet-protection mat with a top-rated polycarbonate claw-backed rectangular mat from Trusted Mats. It was more expensive than other offerings but, boy oh boy, what a mat! It doesn’t move once it’s down and I’m in my chair, and the castors on the chair move smoothly over the surface. The mat lies dead flat on the carpet, no curled edges to cause a trip. I can’t fault this mat. It’s superior to the mat it replaced; well worth the extra cost.
