Velour Vinyl mats are effective barrier mats for light- to medium-traffic entrances, or for floor protection anywhere around your building. The velour face provides good absorption for drying footwear and removing dirt, while the vinyl backing and borders keep the mat stable and hard-wearing underfoot.
Available in a range of flecked colours, and a choice of standard sizes or runners in custom lengths (cut to the linear cm), Velour Vinyl mats are easy to specify to match the look of your building and fit your exact requirements.
Key Features & Benefits of Velour Vinyl Mats
- Absorbent velour face — dries footwear and removes dirt effectively in light- to medium-traffic areas
- Vinyl backing and borders — keep the mat stable underfoot and hard-wearing over time
- Rubber-free vinyl backing— suitable for LVT, Amtico and Karndean flooring when used in accordance with the mat care instructions and your flooring manufacturer’s guidance.
- Range of flecked colours — hides the dirt and helps the mat blend with, or complement, your building’s décor
- Custom lengths by the linear cm — runners can be cut to your exact length, edged on all 4 sides
- Trimmable to custom shapes — you can further trim to fit around fixtures, fittings or awkward spaces and the mat remains structurally sound
Velour Vinyl Mats are Recommended For
- Domestic indoor door mats or runners
- Commercial entrances with light to medium traffic
- Corridors and walkways
- Floor protection
- Spillage control
- LVT, Amtico, and Karndean flooring – subject to floor-care guidance below
- Underfloor Heating Compatible: Safe to use on floors with underfloor heating systems.
For maximum effectiveness in entrance areas, we recommend buying the largest mat suitable for your area — the more steps taken on the mat, the more chance it has of stopping dirt and water before it spreads further into the building.
Are Velour Vinyl Mats Safe for LVT, Amtico, Karndean & Other Vinyl Flooring
Velour Vinyl mats have a rubber-free vinyl backing, making them a practical choice for LVT, Amtico, Karndean and other vinyl flooring. Follow the mat care instructions and your flooring manufacturer’s guidance when choosing and using your mat.
LVT suitability does not guarantee that flooring cannot discolour beneath a mat. Trapped moisture, cleaning residues and other floor or installation conditions can still cause changes.
Place your mat on a clean, dry floor. Lift it regularly to inspect, clean and dry beneath it, checking more frequently where moisture or cleaning residues may accumulate. If you notice discolouration or another adverse change, stop using the mat.

Customisation options for Velour Vinyl Mats
Velour Vinyl Mats are available in custom lengths, cut to size by the cm. They come edged on all 4 sides, making them ideal for any space where you need a mat that fits the length perfectly.
- To order custom lengths (not currently available in dark brown), enter the number of linear centimetres you require into the “Enter Measurement Here” box that appears
- Example: for a 7m length of the 90cm width roll, choose “Custom Length: 90cm x Linear Centimetre” and enter Quantity 700 into the measurement box
- Minimum order length is 60cm — longer lengths cost less per m², as shown in the Measurement Price Bands displayed
Please note: custom-sized items are made to your specific measurements, so please ensure accurate measurements. As standard with textile-faced floor coverings, custom lengths are subject to a standard manufacturing tolerance of +/- 3%. Returns for custom items are limited to manufacturing defects or errors on our part; returns for correctly supplied mats are considered at our discretion and will incur a customisation fee, with the buyer responsible for return shipping costs. See our Refund and Returns Policy for more detailed information.
What Custom Shapes and Sizes are Velour Vinyl Mats Available in?
You can further trim Velour Vinyl mats to fit custom shapes and sizes, or to fit around fixtures and fittings. See the image below as an example. You’ll lose the border where you cut into the mat, but the mat will remain structurally sound.

Velour Vinyl Mats FAQs
Q: Will this velour vinyl mat damage or stain my LVT, Amtico or Karndean flooring?
Velour Vinyl mats have a rubber-free vinyl backing and are suitable for LVT, Amtico and Karndean flooring when used in accordance with the mat care instructions and your flooring manufacturer’s guidance. However, trapped moisture, cleaning residues and other floor conditions can still cause discolouration. Keep the floor beneath clean and dry, lift the mat regularly to check it, and contact us if you notice any adverse change.
Q: Can I order a runner to a specific length?
Yes. Custom lengths are cut to size by the linear cm and come edged on all 4 sides. There’s a minimum order length of 60cm, and longer lengths cost less per m².
Q: Can the velour vinyl mat be cut to fit an awkward space?
Yes. Velour Vinyl mats can be trimmed to custom shapes and sizes, or to fit around fixtures and fittings. You’ll lose the border where you cut into the mat, but it remains structurally sound.
Q: What size velour vinyl mat should I choose for an entrance area?
For maximum effectiveness, choose the largest mat suitable for your area — the more steps taken on the mat, the more chance it has of stopping dirt and water before it spreads further into the building.

I needed two large rugs to cover a very broken kitchen floor. I ordered two from Trusted Mats. The total came to around £200. They look great, with a dark grey/black mottled finish and are hard wearing. They are rubber backed and heavy enough that they don’t move around on the floor when my two boys are running around. Perfect

I was pleased with the prompt delivery. The mat is lovely, however, I was given the impression that the mat would not move on the carpet. The mat does move.
Trusted Mats Response:
Hi Jeanette,
Thank you for your fantastic 5-star review! We’re so pleased to hear that you’re happy with your Velour Vinyl Mat and the prompt delivery.
We apologise for the issue regarding the mat’s movement. While the Velour Vinyl Mats are designed for comfort and durability, they may move slightly depending on the surface underneath. If you’re looking for a more secure fit, our non-slip underlay might be a good solution to help keep the mat in place – https://trustedmats.co.uk/product/teebaud-premium-anti-slip-mat-and-rug-underlay/
We hope this helps, and should you need any further assistance or additional mats in the future, please don’t hesitate to visit our website again!
Best regards,
The Trusted Mats Team

Finding Trusted Mats gave us the perfect solution: We needed a specific sized mat to fit perfectly inside our front door and most mats for sale just weren’t anywhere near right. Our new mat from Trusted Mats is excellent – it looks great, it’s soft underfoot but catches wet and dirt when we come in from the beach every day, and it cleans easily. We are very pleased and very happy to recommend Mark and his team.
