The mat has no pattern and is multi-directional, so the sizes listed can be either the width or the length of the mat. Care considerations for natural coir mats

It’s important to note a few characteristics of natural coir that differ from synthetic mats.

• Initial Shedding: When you first receive your coir mat, you will notice some loose fibres shed, particularly during the initial use. This is completely normal and will subside quickly. Regular brushing with a stiff broom or light vacuuming with the upholstery attachment will help remove loose fibres.

• Moisture Management: While coir excels at removing and absorbing moisture, it’s best to avoid letting the mat become saturated in patches unless it is being used outdoors, where all of the mat will be saturated. This can cause some staining of the coir fibres. To prevent this, avoid leaving wet boots or dripping umbrellas, for example, on the mat for extended periods. If possible, position your coir mat in a sheltered location to minimise exposure to heavy rain. For small spills, a mild soap solution can be used for cleaning, but remember, prevention is key!
