How to Order a Custom Size

1. Select Custom Size from the size dropdown.
2. Choose your colour, backing, and border options.
3. Enter your required dimensions.
4. The price updates automatically.

There are minimum and maximum custom sizes. Larger sizes cost less/m2 as shown in the Measurement Price Bands displayed.

NB: The custom size you enter is the size the mat will be made to, which includes the borders. Due to natural shrinkage in the manufacturing process, there may be a +/- 2% size variation on made-to-measure mats made with borders. Mats made without borders are cut to your exact size requirement.

Border or No Border? Choose What Works for You

Option 1: With Rubber Border (Recommended for Most Spaces)

• Finished, professional appearance
• Hides any colour contrast between fibres and rubber backing
• Best for mats sitting freely on open floors
• Provides structural squaring, giving the mat a clean, framed look
• Minimises the visibility of size tolerances

Option 2: Without Border (For Recesses & Wall‑to‑Wall Installs)

Important — please read before choosing “No Border”:

Borderless mats are machine‑cut to your exact size. They are designed specifically for:

• Mat wells / mat recesses
• Wall‑to‑wall installations
• Fitting flush against walls or fixed surfaces
• Applications where the cut edge is not visible

What to expect with a borderless mat:

1. Visible Cut Edge

Because there is no stitched or sealed edge, you will see the raw machine‑cut line.
You may notice:

• A clean but visible cut edge
• Some loose fibres along the edge (can be removed by brushing or vacuuming and will not fray further)
• The black rubber base visible beneath the coloured fibres

2. Light Colours Show More Contrast

Colours such as orange, cream, yellow, mint, light grey, etc., may show the black backing more clearly along the cut line.
This is normal and unavoidable due to how the mat is constructed.

If the edges will be visible, we recommend choosing the bordered version, especially if you’re choosing a lighter coloured mat

Backing Options

To help your mat stay securely in place once positioned, we offer two specialised backing types. Choose the option that best matches your floor surface for maximum grip and stability.

Smooth Backing — For Hard Floors & Mat Wells

Ideal for:

• Tiles
• Wood / laminate
• Vinyl
• Concrete
• Mat wells / recessed areas

How it works:
The smooth nitrile backing lies flat against hard surfaces, creating natural grip through surface contact. It’s also the recommended choice for mats fitted into recesses where the sides hold the mat in place.

Claw Backing — For Carpeted Floors

Ideal for:

• Low‑pile carpets
• Medium‑pile carpets

How it works:
Small rubber “claw” ridges grip into carpet fibres to reduce movement and help to prevent the mat creeping as it’s walked over. This helps the mat to stay aligned and securely positioned throughout everyday use.
