Sri Guru Ravidas Gurdwara in Leicester is a busy and welcoming place of worship, visited daily by members of the congregation and by families attending weekly services and major celebrations. At the heart of the building is the Darbar Sahib, the main hall, where the community gathers and where the central walkway leads towards the Takht—the platform on which the Guru Granth Sahib, the Sikh holy scripture, is respectfully placed.

It needed to look beautiful and also withstand heavy footfall, remain safe, and stay firmly in place on the hall’s existing carpet.

• A borderless front edge to achieve a true red‑carpet finish
• Delivery and installation support ahead of the celebrations

Because the maximum length of a single mat in the Shades Heavy Duty range is 7 metres, the solution required thoughtful planning to ensure the final result looked like one continuous piece.
